Sandwell Valley is located a short walk from West Bromwich Town centre. West Bromwich Central is the nearest metro station linking the town from the centre of Birmingham and Dudley and Wolverhampton.
There is access to the Country Park by bus using Bus routes 4,5,16,40,45 and 46.
The park has a large number of flat paved routes and flat gradients suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs, walking aids and for those with limited mobility. These include routes around the Showground, around Swan Pool, the path from Swan Pool alongside the M5 motorway and the top of Dartmouth Park. There are steep but paved inclines in Dartmouth Park heading towards the Pavilion car park and Dartmouth pool and on the entrance road to Sandwell Valley heading towards the Visitor Centre. Paths around Sot’s Hole towards the M5 can become uneven and muddy in inclement weather along with some paths around the Priory Ruins. Disabled car parking is available at all car parks.
There are disabled toilets at Dartmouth Park (radar key access), The Pavilion car park, the Visitor Centre and Forge Mill. There are also Changing Places located at Forge Mill and the Pavilion car park.
At Forge Mill Farm there are sometimes loud noises and moving machinery.
There are rest benches placed at regular intervals through the park and there are a small number of accessible picnic benches based near the Visitor Centre and at Forge Mill.
The historic Courtyard at the Visitor Centre has a bricked surface which is uneven in places. The paths around the Victorian Garden are gravel and is the farm trail at Forge Mill.
